Alexandre Louis Jules Lebrun
Born on 5 August 1783 in Paris, died on 24 November 1812 in Russia.
Alexandre Lebrun enters as Second-Lieutenant in the 5th Dragoons Regiment on 27 December 1799. Under command of Louis Bonaparte, his colonel, he makes the campaign of the Reserve Army and fights at Marengo. He serves in 1801 in the Observation Corps of the Gironde and in Portugal. He becomes aide-de-camp to General Bessieres, commander of the cavalry of the Guard, on 22 March 1802. Promoted Lieutenant on 27 November 1802, he joins the staff of the Army of Naples and is awarded Knight’s cross of the Legion of Honour on 14 June 1804. He is appointed aide-de-camp to Marshal Bernadotte on 1st February 1805, and takes part as such in the campaigns of Austria, Prussia and Poland. He is promoted to Captain on 16 November 1806 and Major in the 3rd Cuirassiers Regiment on 5 July 1807. On 15 December 1808 he is again appointed aide-de-camp to Major-General Berthier with which he takes part in the campaigns in Spain and Austria. He is elevated to the rank of Baron of the Empire on 15 August 1809.
He is appointed Colonel of the 3rd Light horses Lancers Regiment on 22 June 1811 and enters in Russia with the 3rd Reserve Cavalry Corps. He is killed in front of Lepel.
