4th Swiss Regiment
The 4th Swiss Regiment is raised by decree of October 15, 1806. its 1st and 2nd battalions are sent to Portugal in 1807, 3rd as part of Dupont Corps is taken prisoner at Baylen. At the end of 1808, 2nd battalion is merged with 1st battalion.
The 4th battalion is posted in Belle-Isle garrison until 1810 is then sent in Spain. At the end of 1810 it is reinforced with the remnants of all Swiss units remaining in Spain. The battalion is disbanded at the beginning of 1813 and strength used to rebuild the regiment coming back from Russia.
The first three battalion, build up to full strength at regimental depot, join to the Grande Armée in 1812. They take part in the Russian campaign in the Oudinot 2nd Army Corps.

Standards
The Regiment is granted in 1807 with three eagles and flags of the 1804 Challiot type bearing the following inscriptions:

on the obverse
ET DISCIPLINE XE BATAILLON |
on the reverse.
3rd battalion is supposed to have lost its eagle at Bailen. In 1808, the number of eagles is reduced to one for whole regiment. The 4th Swiss Regiment did not receive flag of the 1812 type.
Fusiliers
- Long tailed French cut coat of light red cloth. Sky blue collar piped black. Light red shoulder straps piped black. Sky blue squared lapels piped black. Sky blue cuffs piped black with red flaps (rectangular with three buttons) piped black. White turnbacks piped black. Vertical pockets simulated by black piping. Brass buttons.
Plates found never show black piping but white or red ones.
From 1813 short tailed coat with closed lapels of light red cloth Sky blue collar piped red. Light red shoulder straps piped blue. Sky blue squared lapels piped red. Sky blue cuffs with red flaps. White turnbacks bearing sky blue crowned N patches. Vertical pockets simulated by sky blue piping. Brass buttons. - Brass eagle shako plate with trapezoidal base stamped with regiment’s name.

Voltigeurs
As in 2nd regiment. Green plume with yellow top
Officers and NCOs
As is 2nd regiment. For mounted officers, sky blue schabraque with gold lace trim.
Drummers and hornists
Unknown uniform, probably troopers’ dress in dark blue cloth with orange yellow lace trim on collar, lapels and cuffs and, for fusiliers’ drummers, sky blue swallow nests with orange yellow lace trim.
Sappers
As is 1st regiment. Sappers badge in sky blue cloth.
